Craft Your Own Waka Huia (Treasure Box) At Kiwi North!
Enjoy a brief Curator Talk about the beautiful waka huia (treasure box) on display in our Matariki Exhibition, followed by a creative workshop, where we’ll help you craft your own fabulous version of a waka huia using recycled materials!
A waka huia is a treasure box, which was used by Māori to hold precious adornments such as hei tiki (pendants) and huia feathers for dressing the hair.

Time: Meet at Kiwi North Reception From 10.15am for a 10.30am Start.
