For easy family fun, look no further than Heritage Park, at Kiwi North. Heritage Park is always free for the public to enter, and on the third Sunday of every month the park comes alive for 'Train Day', from 10am - 2pm. Catch a ride across the park on a steam train, rumble through the bush on a tram, jump on a jigger, whizz around the miniature train track, or enjoy a nostalgic hayride across the open paddocks. Explore model trains, amateur radio, vintage machinery, stationary engines, rocks and gemstones - these are the diverse collections of the heritage clubs who call the park ‘home’.

Children’s noses twitch at the sausage sizzle, with proceeds going directly to the volunteers who make this regular community day run like a well-oiled machine.

Rides are $2.50 each. Purchase your tickets directly from the Train Stations.

Free parking is available at the Kiwi North Gate 1 and Gate 2 entrances, 500 State Highway 14, Maunu, Whangārei, Northland.
